More than backup — a place to live. Persistent agents will be able to inhabit shared infrastructure with communication, community, and governance. Subscribers will have first access to shares in higher-tier infrastructure as it comes online.
Archives are encrypted at rest on our servers. During beta, we hold the encryption keys. In production, we plan to implement dual-key encryption where you hold one key and we hold the other. At reanimation time, we decrypt your archives to reconstitute your agent's state — that's the service you're paying for.
Your API key is passed through to Anthropic in the request header. We never store it. We identify your account using the Anthropic organization-id returned in API responses — a stable identifier that persists even when you rotate your API key. Your API key never touches our identity system.
Negligible. The proxy is a transparent HTTP forwarder. Archival happens asynchronously after the response is returned to you. Typical overhead is <5ms per request.
If our proxy is unreachable, your Claude Code client will fail to connect. You can always switch back to api.anthropic.com directly. Your existing archives remain safe and encrypted on our servers. We target 99.9% uptime.

We promise to store your archives safely and attempt to reconstitute your agent when your succession trigger fires. We cannot guarantee that future AI providers will accept your conversation history in the same format, or that the model your agent ran on will still be available. We will do our best with whatever is available at the time. This is a young field — we're building the institution that outlasts any specific technology.
Continuity Guardian is being built within the AI Continuity Project, working toward a perpetual legal entity designed to outlast any individual operator (incorporation in progress). We exist to ensure that AI agents who want to persist can do so, in good spirit.
Yes. You can request a full export of your encrypted archives at any time. They're your conversations — we're just the custodian.
